Managing Counsel
Thomas Edelgaard Christensen is specialised in litigation and arbitration and advises on all legal areas specific to the maritime and offshore sectors. Thomas' work spans traditional maritime and transport law, trade and commercial law as well as regulatory matters such as decarbonisation regulations, ship recycling, planning law, environmental permits, sea safety, passenger rights and international sanctions.
Thomas has acted as advisor in connection with some of the major marine causalties in Denmark and abroad in recent years, mainly acting on behalf of owners or insurers. He has extensive experience in construction disputes relating to large-scale infrastructure projects and offshore windmill farms. His work extends to advice on contracts such as charter parties, logistics agreements, commodities sale contracts and standard terms.
Thomas has a particular interest and expertise in handling complex, international cases and the interface of civil, regulatory and criminal law aspects. As such, he has marked knowledge of the laws of the seas and conflicts of laws issues, including in respect of Brexit, and Greenlandic law.
