Gorrissen Federspiel assists in the development of 'Katalist,' a non-profit book-and-claim platform

15 November 2024

Congratulations to Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping and RMI for the launch of their Katalist book and claim platform, an innovative solution that connects shipping customers and freight companies to drive sustainable transportation.

Katalist allows shipping companies to connect with a broader base of freight customers willing to invest in low-emission transport, strengthening the business case for sustainable shipping and helping finance the transition to alternative fuels. The platform simplifies the administrative process of offering low-emission transport and provides the flexibility to bunker any type of alternative fuel wherever it is available, without requiring a premium from specific customers on each vessel.

For freight customers, Katalist offers an immediate way to reduce their shipping emissions, contributing directly to maritime decarbonization. It provides transparent, consistent information about emission savings across various carriers, ensuring that all data meets Katalist’s strict quality criteria, giving customers confidence in the environmental impact of their choices.

At Gorrissen Federspiel, we’re excited to have been part of this important step toward a more sustainable shipping industry.
