Gorrissen Federspiel has advised Rimbal Pty Ltd. on the sale of 42% of the shares in Tanbreez Mining Greenland A/S to listed US-based mining company Critical Metals Corp.
Tanbreez holds a license to exploit rare earth elements in Killavaat Alannguat in southern Greenland, which is considered one of the largest rare earth deposits in the world. The acquisition by Critical Metals Corp represents a milestone in the continuous development of the Tanbreez mining project into a long-term rare earth supply source for Europe and North America, which is essential to the green transition and an electrified future.
It is Critical Metal Corp’s intention to increase its ownership stake in Tanbreez Mining Greenland A/S to 92.5% within the coming years, subject to further investment in the Tanbreez mine and the obtaining of regulatory approvals from the Greenlandic authorities.
