Gorrissen Federspiel is delighted to invite you to our upcoming two-day event exploring the interplay between data protection and the pharmaceutical industry.
The event aims to provide a deep dive into key aspects of data processing in the pharmaceutical industry and how data protection legislation impacts the sector and the apparent challenges and opportunities it presents.
High level agenda:
Day 1: Personal Data in the Pharmaceutical Industry
- Typical data types; clinical data, bio samples, stem cells, etc.
- Strategies for how/when to apply pseudonymisation and anonymisation.
- Legal basis for processing; navigating consent(s), scientific research, and international perspectives.
Day 2: Industry Roles, Agreements and other inherent issues
- Examining the roles of industry actors such as sponsors, research partners, CROs, CMOs, and service providers and the relationship between them.
- Understanding the different types of industry agreements, e.g. research agreements, joint controllership agreements and data processing agreements.
- Inherent data sharing and data transfers, data retention and the impact of emerging technologies.
We aim to equip participants with the expertise to navigate the complex legal landscape of the pharmaceutical industry, while ensuring compliance with GDPR.
