I am part of the Digital Business group, and I have previously worked as a project law student in Corporate/M&A, where I mainly assisted with data room tasks. As a law student, my working day alternates between regular and ad hoc tasks, and this is one of the things I like best about working with Gorrissen Federspiel. I learn something new every day and no two days are the same.
One of my regular tasks is the preparation of a newsletter on IT and data protection law issues. I also assist with preparing data processing agreements and legal research that require searching for judgments and legal literature. It is also my responsibility to organise a Lunch & Learn event once a month for the practice group. Here we focus on news that may be relevant to the lawyers’ further work and advice within data protection law.
In September 2021, I had a unique opportunity to be seconded to Magasin du Nord’s legal department. This was a wild experience as a student. During the secondment, I was introduced to interesting legal issues, mainly in data protection law, and it gave me a better understanding of how the law is used in private undertakings. The best thing about the secondment was meeting reality. I could clearly see how the advice from Gorrissen Federspiel on data protection law was used in practice.
My job as law student with Gorrissen Federspiel is interesting and it gives me an opportunity to link theory with practice. We’re one big team of students with a strong team culture and challenging tasks, and the social network makes the job easier and more fun.
Philip was employed as project law student in Corporate/M&A in the 3rd semester of law school and subsequently continued working in the group as a law student. Among other things, Philip is making use of the Gorrissen Federspiel travel grant, when he is going to Sydney in the fall to study a semester abroad.
