In the summer of 2023, I started working as an assistant in Facility Management at Gorrissen Federspiel. The transition from being a freshly graduated student to starting my first job was naturally a little nerve-wracking. It was a leap from a familiar high school environment to a workplace full of new faces. But I quickly felt comfortable with the job as I was welcomed – both in my department and in the rest of the firm. The strong community here has made it easy for me to settle in.
Working as an assistant in Facility Management, no two days are the same. We have regular tasks such as maintaining the print room and delivering mail and parcels, but it’s the many ad hoc tasks that make the working day exciting and varied. Our department plays an important role in the firm’s daily life by assisting colleagues with many different tasks. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to contribute to making everyday life easier for other people.
Gorrissen Federspiel is a workplace with a good work-life balance and a good social community. It’s all something I really appreciate, which is why I feel lucky that my first workplace has given me some valuable experience for future career opportunities.
