Looking back at 2022, the below is definitely some of the highlights in our SOT Group
Johan Casper Hennings will join as Partner in team from 1st January 2023. The “new generation” of partners in the department with Johan and Morten Berggreen is secured. Johan is a high-caliber maritime lawyer, educated inter alia at Kings College, London and previously seconded with Maersk Tankers in Denmark and Hafnia in Singapore.
During 2022 we assisted on several significant transactions including: (i) Hafnia’s purchase of CTI (The Marine Money Deal of the year) and 12 LR’s from Scorpio, (ii) the sale of Evergas, (iii) the sale of ForSea (iv) the sale of Seatruck Ferries and (v) listing of Bawat Technology Services.
2022 became a record year for our Sale and Purchase team, having assisted in over 100 S&P transactions this year alone. Well done team!
Seven new lawyers joined the team this year, bringing us to a total of 24 talented shipping and transportation lawyers.
ESG, CII, EEXI – we all learned new abbreviations this year! The green agenda is more present than ever. We are proud to take part in the transition by assisting and supporting Global Maritime Forum and many other great initiatives.

Our victory in the Danish Supreme Court in the spring was a personal highlight to me. The Supreme Court ruled that no double personal injury compensation should be given to an injured foreign seafarer working on a Danish flagged vessel.
