As of today, the Danish football club Aalborg Boldspilklub A/S (AaB) has a new majority shareholder – Sport Strategy Excellence 22 (SSE22). Last year, SSE22 entered into a strategic partnership with AaB and obtained the right to subscribe for additional shares through exercise of warrants. A right that has now been exercised generating gross proceeds of DKK 45M for AaB.
Following the share issue, SSE22 holds 50.51% of AaB’s share capital, triggering a mandatory takeover offer to all AaB shareholders as per the Danish Capital Markets Act.
