On 1 April 2026, Gorrissen Federspiel will carry out a transition in the executive management. Jacob Skude Rasmussen will take up the position of Managing Partner, and Martin André Dittmer will take on the role of Chair of the Board after eight years as Managing Partner.
The change in management follows Gorrissen Federspiel’s launch of a new strategy this spring which will set the direction for the coming years in a market characterised by increasing complexity, intensified competition and growing demands from both clients and society.
Jacob Skude Rasmussen has been head of Gorrissen Federspiel’s Dispute Resolution Department for several years and has argued some of the highest-profiled Danish court cases and arbitration in recent years. As Managing Partner, Jacob Skude Rasmussen will be responsible for inter alia implementing the firm’s new strategy and is looking forward to taking on the new role.
“I am very much looking forward to my new role as Managing Partner of Gorrissen Federspiel. Looking ahead, the most important task will be to further strengthen the culture in our firm, characterised by collaboration and a forward-leaning way of working – to the benefit of employees, clients, and all other stakeholders. In an increasingly unpredictable and complex world, where challenges extend beyond pure law, we have a strong foundation for providing full-spectrum advice is increasingly in demand,” says Jacob Skude Rasmussen.
He emphasises that the growing complexity of advisory work places greater demands on collaboration within the firm, and that the firm is prepared to increase its investment in understanding the reality in which clients operate.
Jacob Skude Rasmussen also mentions social responsibility in the upcoming strategy.
“Gorrissen Federspiel has reached a size where we inevitably leave a footprint in Danish society. This means that we have a responsibility to contribute to the debate on the rule of law and the framework within which businesses operate. When fundamental legal principles are being questioned, it is important for the legal industry as such to safeguard the framework.”
In recent years, Gorrissen Federspiel grown significantly and has established a solid foundation for the new strategy period. Over the past eight years, revenue has almost doubled, and the firm has strengthened its position both nationally and internationally.
Martin André Dittmer takes over as Chair of the Board from Niels Bang, who has held the position for the past six years. As Chair of the Board, Martin André Dittmer will – alongside his work as a competition lawyer – focus on supporting the firm’s strategic direction and strengthening the company’s international relations.
Martin André Dittmer underlines that now is the right time to hand over responsibility.
“Gorrissen Federspiel stands on a strong foundation, owing a lot to the dedicated effort from Niels Bang chairing the Board for the last six years. With the new strategy, we are embarking on a new chapter with equally high ambitions. It is a natural time to pass on the baton and pave the way for continued development, while ensuring continuity,” he says.
Niels Bang will focus even more on the continued development of Gorrissen Federspiel’s client offerings.
“After two successful strategy periods and with a solid foundation, it is time to pass on the baton. The changes are a natural part of a more focused and strategic approach to the market and the firm – in respect of what has been achieved and full trust in the new organisation,” says Niels Bang.
Jacob Skude Rasmussen is 47 years old and lives in Frederiksberg with his wife and four children. He enjoys spending travelling or spending his time the family’s vacation home in the Danish countryside, reading a good book or sailing when the weather permits.
