Working as a law student

A student job with focus on your development

Your years as a student shape your future – both personally and professionally. At Gorrissen Federspiel, you will have the opportunity to kick-start your career and clarify some of your dreams for the future. You will also have a mentor to help you balance your studies and your working life.

Our students are law students who are either at the end of their bachelor’s programme or at the beginning of their master’s programme and want to try their hand at everyday life in a large law firm.

As a law student, you will be assigned to three practice groups, where you will work closely with assistant attorneys, attorneys and other law students. You will be an important part of everyday life at the office and will be part of a team and work independently. Your work will consist mainly of memo writing, drafting legal opinions, searching for judgments, legal research on specific issues and other similar tasks. As your skills and competencies develop, you will be given more demanding tasks and greater responsibility.

In the final year of your master’s programme, you will have the opportunity to get a taste of life as an assistant attorney with more challenging assignments. The vast majority of our law students apply to become assistant attorneys with us once they have completed their studies and thus continue their development at Gorrissen Federspiel.
