The GDPR Breakfast Club is a confidential forum for clients to share GDPR experiences. Gorrissen Federspiel will provide insights and facilitate discussions.
Join us for an upcoming session where we will explore the evolving EU–US relationship, its implications for GDPR compliance and tech supplier dependencies. Many EU companies currently rely on a small group of major technology providers—Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM etc. This concentration underscores the importance of proactively managing costs, safeguarding access to critical services, and maintaining flexibility to switch or diversify vendors when necessary.
Recent developments, including the ongoing scrutiny of transatlantic data transfers, highlight the need for organizations to take a strategic approach to data sovereignty. Regulatory shifts—whether through court rulings, European Commission reviews, or changes in U.S. executive policy—could significantly affect the tech services landscape in Europe.
In response, Danish authorities, including the Minister for Digitalisation and the Danish Data Protection Agency, have emphasized the importance of having a well-defined contingency plan.
During the session, we will examine how such plans can help ensure continued access to business-critical data and personal data while managing the financial and technical implications of transitioning data in tech services.

Time and venue
Tuesday, 20 May 2025 between 09.00-10.30 at our office located in Copenhagen (Axeltorv 2, 1609 Copenhagen V). If you are unable to take part physically, it is possible to join the event through an online access.
