Project law student, Corporate/M&A

As a project law student, you gain insight into a law firm with challenging legal assignments and a strong team spirit. Read more about Philip’s working day

I have worked as a project law student, since I started at my third semester of law school. The job gives me an insight into many areas of the law, and I quickly became part of everyday life in a busy law firm.

We often assist with indexing tasks on the major M&A transactions, where we together with the lawyers work on data rooms in connection with the due diligence processes. It’s very interesting to gain insight into how a case is started, and you quickly learn that the work is important for a well- structured process. However, we not only work with indexing tasks. As a project law student and a law student, you can take time off during exams, and that’s another reason why we’re almost always busy in the groups.

As project law students, we often assist the older law students with tasks that they don’t have the time to do. For this reason, I’m involved in tasks which are challenging and concern subjects which I have not yet had at law school. I also assist with legalisation where I go to either embassies or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to have official documents legalised.

One of the things I value the most about being a student here is the strong team spirit. We have many social events, for instance our own student Christmas party. And every week, there’s a Friday bar where the turnout is high. I often join the indoor soccer team, which plays every Friday morning and which is open to everyone at the firm. Every year, we participate in a tournament together with other Copenhagen law firms. But if you prefer yoga, Counter Strike or one of the other activities we have, you can join those activities as well.
